Real Estate Newbies – The Last Day of the Year and What is Your P.L.A.N.?

That is the theme for 2012 – P.L.A.N. -
Prepare
Lock-In
Activate
Now

If you recently saw the new fitness commercials with Janet Jackson, you saw they have the same theme – You have to have a Plan. No matter what it is that you want to achieve, you need a plan. These words also remind me of an episode of Life After on TVOne that featured actress A.J. Johnson of House Party fame with Kid n’ Play. She said when she finished college and decided she wanted to take the plunge into acting her father asked her, “What’s the Plan?”
It has taken me a while to realize that very same thing. No matter what you want to do – lose weight, find a job, start a business, become a real estate investor – and do any of these successfully – You have to ask yourself “What’s the Plan”? I came up with the acronym you see above Prepare, Lock-in, Activate, Now.

Prepare. You have to prepare yourself and get organized with what it is that you want to do.
Lock-in. You have to decide exactly what it is that you want to prepare for.
Activate. You have to write it down so you can see it.
Now. Now you have to go and do what you prepared what you locked-in and wrote down then take the next step and go and do it NOW – Take Action—NOW or it won’t get done.

As we end this year and look forward to 2012, let’s all make it the best year that we can each have. Even if you don’t think you can just Prepare to Lock-in in order to Activate so you can do it Now.

The Year is at an end and what have you Accomplished?

Wow! It looks like another year will be gone in a few days. The question is What Have You Accomplished? I know most of us want to kick ourselves because we didn’t get the big check yet or we don’t have that first sale yet or we didn’t do something else that would otherwise look like success. Well, I’m here to tell you that it is OK. Why? Because you’re still here wanting to accomplish those things and you have not given up. Staying in the Process and not giving up is one of the hardest things to do especially if you are like myself — on this journey mostly alone. Yes, your family and friends wish you well but they are probably secretly wishing you would just let this “thing” go and stop wasting your time or if you’re not working a job they wish you would go and get a “real job” and stop wasting your time because you’re never going to {fill in the blank}. Well, that’s their problem. If they don’t believe in you it’s because they don’t believe in themselves and you cannot let other people’s lack of success become your own. So love them and let them think and believe whatever they choose to because you and me are here for the long haul. We are NOT giving up until we get the big check or make the first sale or accomplish whatever it is we set out to do because we are not quitters – we are WINNERS! and winners NEVER quit. We may get pissed off and frustrated and throw stuff or even shed some tears but that’s ok – we will get there. One Day at a time.

It’s not easy learning how to build a business. That’s why you need a mentor.

I know I need a mentor because it is very difficult attempting to reach the level of success that I want to reach by myself. How am I going to get there if I don’t know what the hell I’m doing? I need the assistance of someone who has achieved and is achieving what I want. I found some fabulous people that I am going to work with in 2012. Here’s my list:

Kadena Tate of e3woman.com. I’ve worked with her previously and I love her.

Viki Irvin of vickiirvin.com. She is the brand for Superwoman LifeStyle and a genius.

Grant Leboff Author of Sales Therapy. This is the first book on sales that I ever read that helped me to believe that I could sell the way I felt more comfortable, so I want to work with Grant one-on-one. How?

I am working a job and for the first time in my life I am going into the new year with clarity and a sense of purpose that I will make the best invest there is to make – an INVESTMENT IN MYSELF – by paying each of these fabulous individuals for their expertise in helping me become who I want to be – a successful business owner with clarity, purpose, vision and passion. These individuals are all going to help me get there and I can’t wait to continue on my journey in 2012. I hope you join me and share your comments, feedback and stories – they are all welcome and I wish you and your family Abundance, Prosperity Happiness, Love, Good Health and A Lot of Laughter going into 2012.

Real Estate Newbies – Do You Plan for For Groceries but Not Your Future?

I have been on my personal journey since 2002 and I have learned alot. Alot meaning that I have learned that we are our own worse enemy, our circle of influence can and in some cases, will determine our success or failure, you have to want it badly enough in order for you to stay on the path to success when it gets difficult and challenging because it will get difficult and challenging and your why has to be strong enough to get you through those times or you will never reach that goal or see your dream finally come to fruition.

I was at the supermarket the other day with my girlfriend. Actually we had gone to Sam’s Club which I knew was a discount bulk warehouse type of shopping experience but I had never actually shopped there before. I had gone with another friend of mine but never actually shopped there for myself. Well, let me tell you I’m used to the regular supermarket – Pathmark or Shoprite. I was completely overwhelmed when I actually started to walk around and look for eggs, butter and bread you know the staples and pick up one of them. I realized I had to get bulk of everything. Now, I’m not dumb I know what bulk discount shopping means but since I had never actually done it myself I was completely overwhelmed. But once I got myself together I was ok. While I was there I also noticed something else. Since I have an entrepreneurial mindset, I am always thinking about my goals and dreams, etc. Don’t get me wrong I do turn it off sometimes as we all should but my mind is always going in one direction or another. While I was at Sam’s Club, I was looking at how the other customers were shopping – very strategically and I thought “WOW” people seem to shop and plan more strategically for food than we do with our own individual plans for our lives, goals and dreams.

We all seem to react to life – that Fight or Flight – syndrome. We haave to pay our bills (which we most certainly do) but we also have to plan for our goals. Robert Kiyosaki said it best when he said, “It’s what you do in your spare time that will determine your success or failure”. Well he actually said …”that will make you rich”. However, if that is not your desire the message is still the same. Alot of time when people see the word “rich”, it puts them in another mindset and they respond completely different. I just want to get the point across that if you have a desire to reach your dreams or goals, keep your day job and pay your bills and take care of your family but never give up. I truly believe that we are not here to struggle. We are here to discover our individual gifts, share them with the world, show others that they can do the same.

Our Deepest Fear

Our Deepest Fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are Powerful beyond measure. It is our Light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, who am I to be Brilliant, Gorgeous, Talented, and Fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of G-d. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. We are born to manifest the Glory of G-d that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in Everyone. And as we Let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically Liberates Others.

Coaching Progress Report #4: The Aftermath

Well, here we are at the end of that coaching call. However, not the end of my coaching; Remember, my coaching will never end. I will continue to get a coach and keep a coach as I grow in my skills and abilities. What have I learned? That no matter what at the end of the day your success depends on Y-O-U. The only person responsible for my success is Yourself. So over the weekend I have been working on me non-stop. Reading and writing to get to the core of what is going on with me. I’ve come up with a sheet of paper that I wrote that I say every morning to get in the habit of taking care of my business. One thing is for sure – If You want your business to pay you like a business you have to treat it like a business.

So I will continue to get coaching and more importantly continue to work on myself and take 100% responsibility for my success or failure.

Coaching Progress Report #3: Here’s what Happened

Well, my coach sent me an email and I read it and I agreed with what he said. What did he say?

“Some people make it to their 1 on 1 call and others miss their time. Whether you made your call time or not isn’t really the issue. The best way to get your business on track is to change.”

And after I read that I said, “He is right”. It’s not about him keeping the schedule, it’s about me knowing that I need to make changes; create habits that will get me where I want to go. At the end of the day no matter what it’s on me to change – to create the habits that will build myself and build my business.
So there. That’s the end of that story. Now, am I making the changes? I can absolutely say yes I am. How did I accomplish that? Well, I did a few things. The first thing I did was go back to the beginning when I first worked with Kadena Tate of to help me learn about marketing – real marketing and more importantly to discover my top 5 strengths. She suggested that I purchase the book strengthsfinder 2.0 by Tom Rath discovered my top 5 strengths and re-read what it said about me and I was so surprised that it was dead on. My top 5 strengths are 1)Intellection 2)Input 3)Positivity 4)Learner 5)Adaptability which means that I love to think, I collect information, I stay Positive, I love to learn and I go with the flow. How awesome is that? When you begin your journey from a place of power and a great foundation such as knowing your 5 strengths, you cannot go wrong. I will continue to get coaching because without it you won’t reach your top. Remember, Tiger Woods has a coach so why wouldn’t you?

Coaching Progress Report #2: Still Not Good.

Well, here’s what happened. I told you that I was told to do something that I didn’t do and I missed my call and then attempted to reconnect with my coach by sending him a message through the site that I paid for and I thought he would call or send me an email but I haven’t heard anything. I am still due two more coaching calls and I have not heard from my coach.

So the lesson here is before you pay your money for any type of coaching (I specifically wanted one-on-one) you should first cover the rules if any such as if you miss a scheduled call do you then lose access to the coach that you paid for and if no such rules were established before the start of the coaching should you then expect to be able to get in touch with your coach. Also, make sure you know how to get in touch with your coach if you have any questions. Is there a specific email address to use or a phone number you are to call.

Well, that’s what happened and I’m frustrated but 100% responsible for the outcome. Until next time.

Coaching Progress Report – Not Good :(

Well to be perfectly honest it is not. I was told to do something by my coach and I had every enthusiastic intention of following through but it didn’t happen. What did happen? Well, that’s a good question. After I was given instruction I had a question, sent an email to my coach and didn’t get an answer back. Since I didn’t get a response, I didn’t know what to do so I didn’t do anything. Is that anybody’s fault? No. Is it my responsibility? Absolutely. No excuses here I’m just telling you what happened. Now I have to reconnect with my coach and I’ll keep you posted. This is a great learning experience because I’m learning even more about myself.

I am Starting my Coaching Project

Well, I’ve done it! I have invested in myself and will be starting my coaching program tonight with Joey Bridges of JAB & Associates. Joey Bridges will be one of the featured speaker’s at Dan Kennedy’s Info Summit on November 3-5 www.dankennedy.com. Joey Bridges specializes in online success in real estate and that is exactly what I have been looking for and it was the right time – NOW – for me to get my success on. Coaching will get me there. Now don’t get me wrong, I’ve had coaching from the office that I work out of that was provided by our office and it has been great. It taught me what I needed to do to make money as quickly as possible and all I had to do was go and do it. I did start and it’s moving too slow and I also want to find out the right way to build my business. I wanted to learn how to succeed online and Joey Bridges will coach me to the success I am looking for. I start this afternoon and I will keep you updated as to my level of success. Finally, I’m getting the coaching I need. Joey is actually not one of my top three because he is the right man for this particular job. The other three are better suited for other business building skills that I want to learn so I will be able to invest in them when I start making some real money. Wohoo! Can’t wait. Until next time.

Mentors mean a quicker path to Your Success

I am so realizing this now in a big way. I want to be a successful Real Estate Investor/Agent and I am gaining much more clarity that a mentor is needed. No matter what you want to do, in order to achieve your success faster you need a mentor to speed your success. Implementation is not always easy but a mentor will take out the hard stuff and make it easier to succeed.

Who are your top three mentors? Have you honed in on them as I mentioned in my last post? By now you should have three people who can help you get where you want to go and these three people can help you in different areas of your growth.
My top three are Kadena Tate, CEO of www.e3woman.com, Vicki Irvin, CEO of Superwoman Lifestyle, www.vickiirvin.com, and Grant Leboff author of Sales Therapy and his newest book, Sticky Marketing, www.stickymarketing.com. Grant is one of my top three because when I read his book, Sales Therapy, I realized finally that I could sell and it was possible. I want at least one session with Grant to help me hone in on my three dimensional unique client prospective. Vicki Irvin, because of her connections and make it happen power. Kadena because of her unique abiility to tap into the individual and bring their particular qualities to the forefront of their individual life and business.
