Real Estate newbies, Have I told you my Story? All of it?

Well here it goes.
I initially went to South Jersey Professional School of Business in 2002 after I got laid off from the local hospital. Hindsight is always 20/20. I could have stayed at the hospital and let them find me a position but being me and thinking I know what I’m doing and everything would come easy, I decided to seek my fortune. I took the pre-licensure class and I didn’t like it that agents had to be paid through their brokers so I didn’t take the test.

Fast forward to 2009, I was working part-time at Royal Suites and a receptionist. I had my license since 2007. I transferred it in 2009 to Keller Williams Realty Atlantic Shore . I thought it would be easy. I didn’t think I would be so afraid. I didn’t know what it would really take to succeed and when I found out I did everything but that. I was petrified. I looked for everything else to do except the actual ACTIONS I was supposed to take — Talk to people and let them know what I do and how I can help on a daily basis therefore putting together a schedule– my first marketing plan. INSTEAD, I did other things– got business cards, started a blog or two. Everything except what would actually bring me paying clients– TALKING to people everyday.

Now we are in December 2012. I have come full circle in my thinking and understand I can’t create the successful business I desire without paying g my dues like everybody else. That means making plenty of mistakes, getting rejected repeatedly, feeling like a fool in front of family, friends and strangers, etc. All of that.Who wants to do that? Well, you better want to if you want to succeed in a successful business. After finding that out and coming to this realization, I am still here just invested in myself with a great coach and will be figuring out how to invest in more coaching because I get that part of it. It was the last piece of the puzzle for me.
Having your coach/mentor holding your feet to the fire for daily accountability is what is going to get me where I need to go. Now all I have to do is INVEST in myself.

To your self-investment (cheers)

Real Estate Newbies are You Investing in Yourself?

Hey Newbies, it’s the end of the year and since it doesn’t look like the world is going to end so what about  2013?  Have you made  some decisions about  whether or not you want to have a better year?  If so, what are you doing about it? What have I been doing? Well, I have been investing in myself. How? I signed up for a 2 session group coaching with the fabulous Sydni Craig-Hart of smart simple marketing who is really helping me understand what it is I need to do to have a successful business. This got me to thinking about a j- o- b. No I don’t want to give  up, I was just thinking about how I work when I do work on  a job. You show up, usually someone shows you what to do a few times and then you’re on your own. Well, when you start a business isn’t that basically the same thing?  You’ve never done it before so you need someone to show you ….A coach to walk you through the steps, holds you accountable, sits down with you and makes sure you get your work or Projects done. This is ultimately the next and most important step to getting in the habit of running your business.Having someone walk you through and hold your feet to the fire. This is what we all need.

The time is NOW to make that investment in Yourself and Your Business.

To Your First Deal,

Real Estate Newbies, End of 2012 is here; Where are You?

I have to tell you all that my fear is lessening. Why? Because I am taking MORE ACTION.
And to be perfectly honest it is not a lot of action but it’s more than I have ever taken and I
can feel something stirring, changing, shifting from the Inside. And because of that I find myself taking MORE steps toward my dreams. I am calling more people, Ideas are coming into my head and I am writing them down and Acting on them. I just made a TO DO LIST for tomorrow. That was the first time I ever did that and had more things on my list than I thought.

I am getting up at 7 a.m. to be on a 15-minute midweek ACTIVATE CALL with Lucinda Cross of http://www.Lucinda who I first met on a group coaching call a few years ago and I have watched her progress into a Dynamo speaker, author, entrepreneur helping other women do the same.

So wherever you are right now, DO NOT GIVE UP. Keep going and you will start to feel the change, the shift from within . I promise you that you will. I did and I don’t want that to stop. I want it to TURBO for me and you too!

To Your Success,

December is here and now is the time to get ready for 2013!

Wow, it’s been a helluva year. We’ve had some good things as well as bad. If you’re pleased President Obama was re-elected, that was a good.If your vote was for Mitt Romney, you might consider that a bad thing along with all of the other things that have undoubtedly taken place in your personal life — emotional ups and downs, etc.

Whatever happened you still have control over your life no matter who the President is if you choose to look at it like that.

Hurricane Sandy devastated areas across the country. Some places were just about blown off the map and others were not touched at all. This is how life is.

So now we speak about your real estate investing business. Where are you? Me? I am investing in myself. I have had a few deals that I lost. One I lost specifically because of Hurricane Sandy. The investors I found pulled out. So now that the hurricane has passed, I am still looking for buyers to close this particular deal. I am not giving up. I hope you don’t either. Like I said above, I am investing in myself with who I believe will be  a great coach for me to help me find my ideal clients and get my marketing plan together so I can work smarter and not harder. This will make it easier for me to reach my goals. I don’t know about you but I need guidance doing something I have never done before which is the desire to build my own successful business. I don’t know about you but I need help with that since I have been an employee all of my life. I don’t know how to be a business owner and all of the responsibilities that entails so I went to someone who can guide me. This is always money well spent.

Remember, the best investment you can make is in Yourself. December is the time to make that decision so you can hit the ground running in January 2013 and speed up your success.
