2644625-empowerment-road-sign-isolated-on-white-contains-clipping-pathYes it is. Real Estate Newbies I am still a little frustrated but I am renewed. Why? Simply because I say so. I am not about to let a few setbacks set me up for a fail. No way. People will show you who they are in this business and in life in general all of the time. It is up to you to filter and meet people where they are and leave them if necessary without taking it personal. If you take it personal it will shut you down.

I was working with a contractor who I thought we would do some good business together but he showed me his true colors. When we first met, he said he had paperwork that I could do for him and we would sit down and talk about it and I’m thinking great I would love to create some extra revenue whether I am selling a home or not because more than one revenue stream is always advisable. Ok. Great. Well, that never happens. Ok. I don’t get bent out of shape just observing. Then we had the deal with the guy who doesn’t like to deal with women. Ok. That’s not his fault. Then he asks me to get him some information on some land he wants to purchase to build since he is a contractor and I get him that info and never hear from him and my calls and texts go unanswered. WOW. People will show you who they are just give them the opportunity. Lesson learned. Moving forward. Don’t take it personal.

I will find a contractor that we can have a truly respectful and beneficial relationship helping each other get where we want to go.

There is light at the end of the tunnel because I put it there!

Real Estate Newbies, How Are You Feeling Right About Now?

Honestly, now I am feeling a few things—frustrated, pissed off but mostly frustrated because I am realizing that in business it is difficult to do your business if you have to feel like you are arm wrestling with your potential clients at every turn. I feel that way and it’s really pissing me off. What am I doing wrong? Good question. I don’t know yet but I will find out. My intention is to connect with potential clients that want to work with me. I know I’m a nice person, pleasant, nice personality and all that but I’m really having a challenge here trying to figure this out. I don’t want to fight with any of my clients or potential clients. I just want to work with those who want to work with me. I don’t think that’s too much to ask but I guess we have to do some type of psychological dance and see who wins? Ugh! I don’t really want to do that but I guess that’s what everyone else does so do I have to do it too?

I don’t want to so I’m going to be on a mission to find a better way.

Are You Making Phone Calls Real Estate Newbies?


As a Realtor, I have to have consistent business. Even if you’re a Investor you still have to have a consistent flow of prospects that you can talk to in order to build your business. In the industry it is said that if you don’t have listing you don’ have a business from a Realtor or real estate agent perspective. If you’re an Investor, you need to have a list of buyers for the deals you get under contract. Either way  -Realtor/agent or Investor- you need a list to sell to so you have consistent business. We did this today in our workshop aimed at getting listing appointments. We made calls for 30 minutes. I had done it a little on my own but not a focused, concentrated effort like today. Honestly, I was a little nervous but as our trainer told us -We didn’t die — from making calls and it wasn’t that bad. Action Is Required.

You just have to do it.

Real Estate Newbies UPDATE

Unfortunately the deals that I was working on all fell through but I got some good news today about one deal I was working on but I won’t get that check until closing which is months away because they haven’t even broken ground yet on this particular project but it is still good news.

I am the Master of my Life. This is the lesson I am learning. I walked away from my substitute teacher gig because I didn’t really want to do it anymore and I wanted to do what I wanted to do which is grow a successful real estate business with consistent business and cash flow. I am working on that. It is a challenge but it is doable. If it is to be then it is up to me. I don’t give up and I don’t like to fail. I have failed but I am learning from my mistakes and that is the way it should be. It’s not easy but it is doable.

What are you doing? I know it’s not easy but it is doable. Come on, get it done and completed. You will feel Great. I promise You.

Hey Real Estate Newbies Is Your Enthusiasm Wanning?


Well to be perfectly honest, mine is. Yes it is. My enthusiasm is wanning and getting lesser. Why? The deals that I was so enthusiastic about – I had three – all flopped, bombed, went kaput! Man oh man did that piss me off but that’s the business and that’s how it goes. Do I like it? Hell No. But it is what it is. I did my level best to bring those deals to the table and have it result in a check but I have no control over people and what they will and won’t do. People will say one thing and do another and there is really nothing you can do about that. Well, what’s next? No more feeling sorry for myself. What have I learned? You have to keep moving and have your vision and always be looking ahead because the deals that you have may not come to completion where it will result in a check and you still have to keep it moving. So tha’s what I am doing — Keeping It Moving — onto the next deal.

Now, let’s both go take some ACTION!

Real Estate Newbies, I got MY First Check, NOW WHAT?

400_F_49089223_jZfoWp7YJ7HfVUpmOiLa0UEXGcRAYzM7A Second, Third, Etc. Etc. Etc. That’s what’s next. I am on fire in my belly right now. I want that next check so badly. It boosts confidence, money attracts money and all of those things come into play. I went to a real estate seminar this past weekend – Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Three days of intense real estate information. Have you heard of Armando Montelongo of A&E’s Flip This House? Well, I went to his seminar. He wasn’t there but his team was in place teaching us some good info I must say. Now comes the I-M-P-L-E-M-E-N-T-A-T-I-O-N time. The thing that separates the men from the boys, women from the girls, and all of that. Do I think I can implement? Not completely. Am I gonna do my best? Absolutely you better believe it because that’s how you learn. It’s just like when a baby begins to walk. They don’t know what’s gonna happen before they put their foot out there but they’re going anyway because they want that prize – the bottle, getting to mommy or daddy or grandmom’s arms for that big hug and kiss. Well, I want the same thing but it comes in the form of confidence, experience and a check.

Well, what are you waiting for? Don’t you want that too? I want that for you. Don’t keep waiting. I waited too long and I don’t want that to happen to you.

What else but get more sales. It is an amazing feeling to get that first check. You are truly walking on air, all is right with the world. I can go on and on but it’s time to get back to business. It’s time to get to the next sale and the next. The only way to do that, I am learning, is to create habits of consistency that will bring me deal after deal. Now I understand why most of us won’t be in business for ourselves. It is actually harder to be in business for yourself than it is to work for someone else. All you have to do when you work a j-o-b is show up. Everything is done for you. You already know what you have to do. You don’t have to go out and drum up business (aka marketing), getting orders, setting up  payroll, etc. All you have to do is show up and a week or two later you’re getting a paycheck.

Now I have to put together a system of lead generation to consistently be talking to my ideal clients who want to work with me (much more enjoyable). This can actually be kinda boring I must admit but it is worth it to me.
